मराठीतही, एका प्रसिद्ध कवीनें ‘संत तुकाराम’ बोट बुडाली व बरेच लोक मेले त्याचें प्रत्ययकारी वर्णन ‘संत तुकाराम’ नामक काव्यात केलेलें आहे.

गानसरस्वती किशोरी आमोणकर यांनी त्यांच्या ‘स्वरार्थरमणी’ या ग्रंथात उद्धृत केलेला हा काव्यांश पहा –

The words are lovely, dark and deep

झोपेचा उल्लेख, हा मरणाशी संबंधित आहे, हें उघड आहे.

इंग्रजीनें इतर भाषांमधील, हायकू, गझल वगैरे काव्यप्रकारही आपलेसे केलेले आहेत. त्यांतील कांहीं उदाहरणें पाहूं या –

अमेरिकन इंग्लिश संगीतातही, खास करून ‘रॉक् म्यूझिक’ चा एक प्रकार ‘मेटल्’ यात, मृत्यूचा उल्लेख असतो. हें पद्य असतंच मुळी पुश्कळदा मृत्युविषयक भाष्य करणारं. ( संदर्भ – ‘लयपश्चिमा’ – डॉ. आशुतोष जावडेकर). ही दोनएक उदाहरणें –

I have lost the will to live

Simply nothing more to give

Death greets me warm

I’ll just say good bye.

‘Colonial Era’ मुळे तर आहेच, पण हल्लीच्या काळातील कंप्यूटर व InfoTech मुळेही, इंग्रजी ही जागतिक भाषा झालेली आहे. त्यामुळे, इंग्लंडव्यतिरिक्त विविध देशांमधील कवींनी लिहिलेलें काव्य (जसें की अमेरिका, भारत, साउथ-अशिया, कॅनडा, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, इत्यादी), व हायकू-गझल यासारखें भिन्नदेशीय, भिन्न संस्कृतींमधील काव्य, हें सर्व इंग्रजीत येणें स्वाभाविक आहे. त्यामुळें, इंग्रजी काव्यात मृत्यूचा उल्लेखही आपल्याला विविध सांस्कृतिक संदर्भातून, भिन्नभिन्न काव्यप्रकारातून, दृष्टिगोचर होतो.
